Formed by the Hebrew letters Chet and Yud, the word chai symbolizes vitality, continuity, and hope. In Jewish tradition, the numerical value of chai is 18, making it a powerful symbol of life and blessing. That’s why giving in multiples of 18 is known as “giving chai” — giving life.

The Chai Club is a community of caring, committed individuals who believe in sustaining and growing joyful Jewish life in Alaska.

As a monthly giving club, Chai Club members provide the consistent support that makes it possible for the Alaska Jewish Campus & Museum to serve the community year-round. Your partnership is not just helpful — it is essential.
